Stop saying "Taking it forward."
Stop using terms like "Moving forward."
Speak properly!
If you are commentating on football do not say "Just about" when you mean "He did!"
Why say "frame of the goal" when you mean goalpost?
"Selfie?" No it's a self portrait or 'snap!'
"Awesome" Do Americans only have one word in their vocabulary!?
Language is communication, you inform people what happens, or what you mean. You do not do this by using the wrong words or words out of contest that do not mean anything!!!
I'm off to bed before I self destruct!

I think selfie is a rather expressive word with echoes of "selfish" It's words like "community" that make me see red "the selfie taking community" or some other utterly meaningless tndom group of people
:)
Awesome, Adullamite!
Now ,now...you know I am American and I ALWAYS have more than one word to say, but I still think you are AWESOME.
There are many terms and over-used words of today that annoy the hell out of me, too.
I think I'll go and bury myself under my bed covers, too. I'm in one of "those" moods today. Stop the world, I want to get off. Or stop me and let world get off...one or the other!
Jenny, I could not write 'community' as I would have had to resort to bad language!
Jenny, and :) to you!
Fly, Stop it!!
Kay, I said STOP IT!!!
Lee, That is a good response, back to bed it is!
Adullaman ~ have a look at wordless.com to create your own word bubbles. Simply copy and paste a section of text from something ~ perhaps your book or an earlier blogpost ~ and see what wordless will produce for you. I use it a lot in my teaching.
They are called wordles ~ not wordless

I agree with Lee on the over use of certain words and also the meanings now attached to such words. Case in point I am often Gay but I am not Gay. I love rainbow colors but fear to put the colors on display. If I hear the term "selfie" heads up, or fabulous I may join Lee and hide under the covers. However, hiding will not stop the use of bad language so we must amble along and tune them out especially the four letter ones. Oh now I do use them occasionally but never just to express myself. I am excited as the Mid Term elections went rather well here. Peace
'Wow, no way!'
'No worries'
'Hey guys'
'Laters'
I could go on...
Carol, I will look into that in the morning, cheers. I hope you are OK?
Lady, Peace is a good word!
Mike, You been talking to your daughters again...?
