This is the magnificent Heart of Midlothian side that went to Austria, took on the Great Rapid Vienna side. Despite a man wrongly dismissed by the erratic Azerbaijan referee, and suffering a last-minute equaliser when we thought the game was won, this team endured a further thirty minutes before we went to penalties. Some players suffered bad injuries, others suffered yet played on, Calvin Miller scoring an exceptional goal despite hamstring problems. He limped on to the end of the game manfully, a star indeed.
Winning play-offs in Austria is not for everyone.
Now, despite a full Scottish League programme ahead, we also must play several games in the UEFA Conference League. This will bring some cash to the club, but also some big European sides, just the type we wish to see at Tynecastle. The scores will not matter, we are there and will have a go at any and everyone we face.
