Monday Maudling

For some reason this 'Earth Day' I am very tired.  The walking back and forth, even in the bright sun this morning to the store, revealed my tiredness.  Spring being Spring we saw a bright blue sky featuring an aircraft bound for Warsaw, Athens or Cyprus passing under the long white streaks from previous craft, this lifted the heart.  Bright sun, blue sky and fearful chill can be good for the soul early on.  Paying the young lass at the checkout is less enjoyable!
Sadly this lack of interest in life meant I cared little for PM Sunak's speech re Rwanda.  We know what he is saying and we know it is all a lie, so why bother?  Instead I put my tuppence worth in the 'Daily Mail' comments re the Jewish activist attempting to blame the Met police for stopping him causing trouble at a Palestinian protest.  His edited highlights encouraged the 'Mail' and other right-wing press.  This was soon amended when the whole 15 minute picture was revealed and he was seen as an agitator.  Well done the officer involved.
The Gaza situation is difficult, this is not helped by media talking sides, antagonists from either side lying to the public, and politicians taking backhanders from one or the other.  More children died and some adults are enjoying this.
I have no answer.

I filled my day by staring at the screen, discovering that now I have only the mobile phone that this has run out of data until the new lot on the 29th.  I have no idea what this means, but every MB will cost be 10p a go until then.  I have switched it off.  I have however, increased the data a we bit before it clicks in so this does not happen again, until next time...
I clambered up and down stairs to check the electric meter, misread my own scribble, and may now be charged a lot more from the EON gangsters this month.  To tired to write correctly.
Tomorrow however, all will be well.  Sleep and dinner will see me through and I do not have to visit the Kirk for a long Sunday service as I did yesterday.  A service, a Nigerian childs thanksgiving, and communion, all this followed by the AGM.  All this thinking wore me out I reckon.  In the end my contribution there was to hold my hand up and 'second' a motion.  I forget which!  At least history will record my name on a piece of paper at next years AGM.
Lots of Nigerians there yesterday.  Who knows where they live, some have begun attending here.  The UK church is growing because of African Christians arriving and filling near empty churches.  This will be interesting.

Worn Out

Having woken feeling almost normal I attempted to do normal jobs.  Now I am worn out.  Maybe I will leave the rest until next week...

Tired Day

It was with great reluctance I dragged myself out of bed this morning.  Sleep had been fitful, tiredness heavy.  This remained with me until an afternoon catnap removed much of the weariness.  I have been tired greatly this week, however, I reckon this was indeed a result of the jabs yesterday.  They don't usually cause much grief to me but the tiredness and heavy feel must come from that.
I had little interest in the media today because it is too much effort, however, cunning people reckon the present attacks on the Tory Party by the far right grumblers on Twitter etc, indicates the right are going to make another move to install their own Furher.  They wish to bring back Boris as he will obey their commands and reignite the Truss legacy.
Now I am about to eat my Steak Pie for dinner and visit 'Etsy' before retiring to bed to lounge for a while, or preferably until morning.  Several gifts have come from these small, but efficient, sellers.  I will look around to see what I can get to finish of my little box for up north.  I must say I think I have bought a few things via these people, so far so good.  A good opportunity for small business's, women especially working from home, and providing for customers who understand Royal Mails problems.

Tired Monday

This is me today.
Total wipeout.  Not able to stay awake all day.  Even a lunchtime snooze is not enough to lift this tiredness.  I suspect the apple crumble, large lunch, roast potatoes and sliver of whisky may play a part in this.
Too much running around in the days prior to Christmas, no energy left to make the most of the whisky gifts now available to me.  Instead I stare at pictures of far off lands Live on the screen.  Railways in the USA, watering holes in various parts of Africa, some in hot sunshine, some in heavy downpours.  The online pictures from various parts of the world, Live and free, can be interesting, especially if you like Zebras, railways or ocean spray thundering against the shoreline. Such simple pleasures were all I could manage today.
I may enliven myself with some er, gifts tonight.

Tired Rain with Calvin...

At last a wee break in the weather.  For what appears to be months the temperature has kept itself very high, the winds from the Sahara bringing their heat to us and that part of the world on the receiving end of higher than usual temperatures as far as I can see.  Global warming, mostly man made, is hurting us.  In Essex yesterday and possibly today 35% has been seen, my front room, which faces north, reached to just over 90%!  It was unusual to move about and feel the air in the room warm as you walked through it.  I suppose all these naked and near naked bodies sweating away have actually done themselves some good by allowing the skin to breathe, however for those looking in this could have been an unpleasant sight, shall I offer a photo of me perhaps..what?...oh!

Tuesday was a very busy day and finished a tiring week for me.  Running around to seek items for the opening of the exhibition wore me out and on the day I failed to eat properly, as you do.  For the next three days I have been almost dead, lie not helped by making a mess of the photos I took of the kids.  At least one woman hates me, one more than usual I mean.  It is a funny thing but if you eat and sleep properly your mind works better, if you are lax in such things life degenerates somewhat and problems occur.  Maybe Donald Trump needs a new cook?  My mind is almost normal now, what's that you said...?

The curate and I got around to discussing Calvin's commentary on Genesis as you do and in the end we both bought a second hand copy to investigate.  I had found a translation from 1847 by the Rev John King online and considered it somewhat difficult to read, the form of language being Victorian.  Therefore I found the book on Amazon to aid the tax dodging billionaire's profits while paying just over £9 for the privilege.   Today I sauntered early down to the sorting office for the book the postman did not wake me up to deliver yesterday.  I sauntered back clutching my prize and cheerfully opened it up to discover this version was a 1975 print of  the Rev John King's 1847 translation that was free online!  Sometimes I wonder about my stupidity!

I'm Tired....

I'm so tired!  Half term holiday and thousands of kids arrived at my door.  Just after Jean remarked that it was quiet, 10:30 ish is always quiet, we were inundated with mum's bringing the kids in.  The sun shining brightly fooled them into thinking it was warm, it wasn't really, but they had to get put of the house and here they arrived.  Not only but also there were human beings also visiting, lots of them. Many others came with queries, asking re photographs or tourist information, one visitor liked to talk as being far from home and alone he was a bit lonely, very nice he was.  Then I had to return later as the lass had to go visit a woman to record information re her wartime experiences. So I missed my much needed afternoon siesta and this is not good.  Adrenalin kept me going and now it has ceased!
I might not be able to keep my eyes open during the football, this is bad....

The Grim Reaper came for me last night, and I beat him off with a Vacuum cleaner.
Talk about Dyson with death.

Paddy says "Mick, I'm thinking of buying a Labrador ."
"Really, ..." says Mick "Have you seen how many of their owners go blind?"

The wife has been missing a week now. Police said to prepare for the worst.
So I have been to the charity shop to get all her clothes back.

A mate of mine recently admitted to being addicted to brake fluid.
When I quizzed him on it he reckoned he could stop any time.

I went to the cemetery yesterday to lay some flowers on a grave. As I was standing there I noticed 4 grave diggers walking about with a coffin,
3 hours later and they're still walking about with it.
I thought to myself, they've lost the plot .....

My daughter asked me for a pet spider for her birthday, so I went to our local pet shop and they were £70! "Blow this," I thought,
"I can get one cheaper off the web."

Statistically, 6 out of 7 dwarves are not Happy.

I was at a cash point yesterday when a little old lady asked if I could check her balance, so I pushed her over.

I was driving this morning when I saw an AA van parked up.
The driver was sobbing uncontrollably and looked very miserable.
I thought to myself, "That guy's heading for a breakdown."

Worn Out

.

Twice this week I have cycled out to a nearby warehouse to help clear up the mess they are in. For a mere two hours, yes two hours a day I have wandered around flattening cardboard boxes and generally tidying the place up. This is a company that has dropped a number of staff yet found itself getting busier. This means the warehouse, actually well organised but in a mess through sheer industry, is creating a H&S problem, and a sheer practicable one for the pickers and packers as they wade thought fallen boxes, some full many empty, to fulfil their tasks. Therefore the cheap option is to bring in someone aged, desperate for a few hours work, and willing to happily wander around flattening the boxes and moving it in the huge bins provided. So twice I have spent two hours doing this, and now, after four hours work I cannot move anything anymore without aching everywhere! Not working, lacking exercise, and being as fit as a ten day old corpse, has revealed me to be less fit than even I thought. I stretch, I hot bath, and just await the girl from the Cambodian all night tanning salon to come around and massage my knees back into their proper place. However, the tiredness I feel, what some dafties call 'good tiredness' is hanging over me and I may not be able to stay aw...

Wednesday

Well I know one reason why I was knackered, sloth!
The bug that never leaves me does not help but not having anything stimulating the (very) little gray cells does not help. So today when I was forced out of the routine to meet a pretty young woman under orders from the Fuhrer at the dole office, I found this helped. Stimulating thought, encouraging words, and a slapping (twice) on the side of the head from a handbag (just to make sure I was listening) all added up to a nice hour. Of course we argued, I met her in a cafe and she wanted to pay! Modern wimmen need a good slap themselves sometimes! Will it help find work? No! There are no jobs for lazy, fat, slobbish, miserable gits it appears.

The remembrance service is over for this year. We have remembered the dead of the Great War, and all wars since, including the present conflicts. Yet we have seen one woman run to the 'Sun' to complain The Prime Minister misspelled her sons name in the note of condolence he sent her and she runs to the 'Sun' to complain! If the PM takes a moment from his 14 hour day to send a note of condolence, in his famously bad handwriting, (he is blind in one eye and has restricted vision in the other) and he has done this over two hundred times at least, is it right to run to the press? I am left sympathising with the loss of her son but wondering if she has received payment for this? When Brown phoned her she records his call? Not something most of us would do, at least not to give to the papers anyway. Indeed the 'Sun,' owned by Rupert Murdoch and having already made clear his desire to support the Tories in the coming election, are using a dead soldier and his grieving mother for political ends, and hope to profit from this. A disgrace all round.
