So many young women in the Sixties held the dream to become an air hostess...and many fulfilled their dream. It was thought of as being such a glamorous, exciting job.

I never had that dream.

I don't fancy flying into Benghazi these days...though a pickled onion on a transatlantic flight would be decidedly welcome.

I could never see the attraction of being an air hostess....might as well become a nippy in Joe Lyons

Lee, I suspect it was glamorous in the 60's, however packed Jumbos on holiday routes must be manic.

Fly, Ah yes a jet to Lybia would be a nice treat, especially in a swimsuit!

I wanted to be an air hostie when I was young, but my mother threw a bucket of unsupportive criticism on the idea.
