I don't understand.

I don't understand how people can vote to stay ruled from Westminster when the opportunity to obtain an independent Scotland stands before you!

I have spent all my life ruled by England.  Both I and my nation have been regarded as second class citizens at all times. Any attempt to indicate this has been laughed off by those around me. This does not come from evil people bent on destruction but from an England that does not understand, nor care, how Scotland is treated.  I have indicated many times the constant belittling of Scotland in the media and daily life, something that other 'ethnics' would challenge as racist.
To the average Englishman Scots are 'up there,' and a 'good place for a holiday.'
They regard us as 'one of them, but different' and have no concept of what it means to be considered as the smaller and unimportant part of the union.
Huge resentment rises amongst those who see Scots care for their weakest as this is not an English attitude, at least among 'Middle England' the bit politicians aim for to get power! Greed and selfishness reigns there, just read the 'Daily Mail!' Each Englishman has his castle while Scots have learned to be more egalitarian.

How can anyone consider it worthwhile to continue being regarded as second class within a 'union' and allow half truths and deceit stop them from obtaining their nation once again?
Be a citizen of your own land Scots, the economic problems will always be there but this time under your control!

Speak for Scotland!

Good points, I am with you i cannot understand those that do not want to make their own decisions. Freedom is always better than slavery.

As The Proclaimers put it - I can't understand why we let someone else rule our land, cap in hand.

And I don't understand how Scots see themselves as second-class citizens rules by an imperialist Westminster (English) elite. The English don't consider the Scots second-class and Scottish voters have as much - indeed, more - say in ruling the country as English or Welsh voters.

We really should stay united!

Lee, Sadly I do.

Alan, Thanks.

Mike, Cap in hand, to receive back our money!

BP, You reflect perfectly English lack of understanding, and you are an intelligent man! Imagine how the Daily Mail or Sun reader see it. You don't regard us as 2 nd class yet it is seen all around us and the present media is all out to enforce this.

I hope a museum in Scotland will want to open an exhibit of you someday. Hey, if it was possible to finally get back the Stone of Destiny--maybe another misplaced national treasure can make it back home, as well?

Jerry, The Stone was returned some years ago by a Labour Party desperate for votes. It failed!

I fear that if the Scots leave the UK England will not be the greatest place to be.

I have had enough glimpses of England from an Irish perspective to know that what you say is true. If it is any consolation to you (and it is not to me) we were ten times worse in Ireland than we were in Scotland. And we were horrendous in Scotland and are still deeply patronising to both countries. Also I don't like Cameron Osborne IDS & Co being in charge, and I can sure see why the Scots don't like it either. I am not eligible to vote but if I was I think however I would still reluctantly go for "No" because I don't really trust the Scottish politicians who seem to be just as full of fine sounding promises and rhetoric as English ones are while the likes of Deutsche Bank and many economists are saying scary things that actually do seem to make sense. So I fear it might be out of the frying pan into the fire and if I was a Scot I would want to see whether the UK's promises were delivered, and if not then I'd be planning another referendum very soon!

Carol, What?????

Jenny, The scare stories are just that, ignore them.
UK promises are lies.
