I was making my way home yesterday when I saw this vehicle outside the register office. A young couple were getting married and it appears this was their transport. I took the foto as I guess this was a Studebaker car from the late 50's. I had a second hand somewhat tarnished 'Dinky Toy' Studebaker model when considerably younger and I liked it and the car has stuck in my mind, although the car itself did not. Someone will know the make of car most likely.
High above today I noticed this fellow noisily soaring around. This was unusual as no planes of this type (Tiger Moth?) appear in our skies. Around this time of year those who restore or just store and maintain such creations often wheel them out for the many air shows that appear relatively near by (If you possess a car). Possibly he was on his way to/from one such, possibly he was just out for a run. He did not offer me a lift.
I am writing abut WW2 again and my eyes have already gone off in different directions and I have only reached 1942. This is supposed to be a shirt item! Vast amounts to do yet and it is required NOW!

1958 Cadillac La Salle!
Oops.... '58 Cadillac Fleetwood!
Okay.... I finally tracked down the exact model... it's a 1958 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. That's it, that's my final answer. In my defence, all the '58 cadillacs share some of the attributes of this model. The Fleetwood has different rear quarter panels.
La Salle was just plain wrong, but Cadillac used to build cars under the La Salle name.
Soub's right...I was just about to type that was a caddie and not a studebaker. :)
The differences between the caddie and the studie you will see are the grill and the fins.
Soub, Made up your mind? Tsk! I built an Airfix model of such a car many years ago but cannot mind the type. They were all fins and windows then.
Lee, Grill and Fins, they both have grill and fins but...
She's talking nonsense. The Cadillac is hugely unlike any Studebaker ever. But she's an Australian, and all that hanging upside down and holding on with velcro shoes must be stressful. Like being a fruit-bat.
Soub, From what I gather you are saying Lee is an old fruit bat...?
If that Studebaker in your picture is a Golden Hawk, it was faster straight off of the assembly line than almost everything on the roads today.
Jerry, But Soub says it aint...
