I am just barely starting to board the Thursday bus and you are already on Saturday. I know of Fleet Street though, and if I ever catch up to your rapid-fire blogging I will tell yo a thing or two about the sewers. At least I think the sewer was Fleet Street. Please hit the pause button.
Max, The River Fleet was indeed covered over and became a street. It crosses Fleet St at the er, crossing. It was, and still is a sewer, but so is Fleet St.
I think it looks much more alive than it is now, just a dreary thoroughfare full of uninteresting shops. I am imagining all those reporters sitting there in the pubs.
