Things upon which to Cogitate

A must read for intellectuals.

So many being dumped the shops canny get rid of them!
It's Dan Brown all over again!

The small villages who received back the men who marched to the Great War and received all their boys back once again were called 'Thankful Villages.'  There were few indeed of these.  At the time this report was written, 2011, only 52 such villages could be found in England and Wales.
No such village was discovered in Scotland or Ireland.
Near me lies a small village with a population of 402 in 1895.
During the Great War some 32 men died in action,
rather more typical of the time.

To stop Soub from greetin I add the Yorkshire version

I went into a charity shop today, and there were 3 '50 shades' on the shelf side by side. I bought a lava lamp for a fiver brought back memories of the 70's.

I read the 50 Shades trilogy...and I enjoyed the story; and am not afraid to admit; and the books are still amongst the hundreds of other books of all varieties on my shelves.

Everyone wants to jump on the bandwagon an pan the books, but the number of books sold prove they also wanted to read them; and so many are, unnecessarily, embarrassed to admit that they did.

A friend of mine made book covers out of newspaper when she read the books, so if one visited her, they wouldn't know her wicked secret!!!!

I couldn't believe it when she told me! How bloody ridiculous! If she wanted to hide the fact that she was reading the books, that wasn't the way to do it! I reckon that would've drawn more attention! Crazy!

I'm a big girl now...I've been around the mulberry bush many times and survived; I'm sure reading 50 Shades wasn't going to corrupt or offend me!

Fly, Taken prisoner on a raid I think.

Alan, A Lava lamp worth more than the book.

Lee, I don't wish to know what you were doing under mulberry bushes...

Max, You know some...?
