What makes me laugh the most is those outfits they are wearing. Just about the least flattering trouser shape, even for those who are not semi circular in the first place ...

This is the most brilliant of all! So very clever; so very funny. They were great. How I loved watching Abbott & Costello at the Saturday afternoon matinees when I was a little kid.

Between the cartoons, Abbott & Costello, The Three Stooges, The Marx Bros., and the frequent re-runs of the Pete Smith Specialties (Smith's short comedies that were always shown after the interval before the main feature)...we always had comedy to entertain us.

Smith's comedy shorts are difficult to come by these days.....I hope someone, somewhere still holds precious copies of them...they are a part of cinema history.

Jenny, I love the outfits!

Lee, Comedy from that time is good.

What a feast we had when we went to the pictures when we were kids! And I'm not referring to the bags of lollies purchased at interval or before the matinee began.

Two pictures were always on offer...the lesser one first and the main feature rolled after the half time curtain rose.

A newsreel, cartoons, sometimes the Pete Smith comedies or something similar, trailers of coming movies and a serial usually with J. Caroll Naish as the villian (I think I wrote something along the lines not that long ago on my own blog)....and in Gympie when I was growing up the picture theatre ran six different movies a week. There were the Friday/Sat matinee/evening/Monday features; then they changed on Tuesday/Wednesday; and Thursday night different shows again for "Family Night".

The pictures featured big in our lives back then.

I love "Who's On First"!
From someone who loves both baseball and a play on words, this has always been one of my favorites!

Trying desperately to catch up on my commenting rounds.

Of course, I have no comment on this one since I am not old enough to remember these two guys. Are these the three stooges, then?
