Cramond

.

What a rubbish day.  It started badly, got worse, then went wrong, and suddenly I found it was dark and nothing had been done that was supposed to be done - again! I'm falling apart here, and not slowly. So here is a picture of Cramond I took a couple of years ago.  I wish I was there now....

Sorry about your day, but the photo is worth a thousand words! I wish I were there now, too!

Ah, Cramond. At the mouth of the River Almond, Ayrshire. :)

Show us a picture of the brig. I love old stone bridges. You must have one somewhere if you know Cramond. Stone bridges and steam locomotives. And old doors and windows. And mossy church steps. Can't be beat.

I hope you recover to your usual bright and sunny self soon. This sudden negativity is offputting. :)

Thank you, Max. Though I was wondering what part of the British Isles it belonged to - Scotland.

Knowing you, I bet you'd love to see photos of the wharf houses, typical of traditional south-east Scottish vernacular architecture, as well... :)

Shouldn't you be about used to that by now? (Yeah, my faith in you winning the lottery is fading fast.)

Mike, no indeed. A bit of a Hibby week so far.

RDG, xxx This is Cramond on the Firth Of Forth. A quick search on Google Maps will show it is Edinburgh's favourite beach.

Max, Tsk! Your fascination with Ayr and its murderous folk has fooled you. It is indeed the mouth of the Almond, but the one that flows through West Lothian to the outskirts of Edinburgh. The Romans built a fort here as they used this to land supplies. In the 1700's iron works stood here also.

RDG, I told you not to trust him, he's American, and you know what American men are like.

Fish, Yes I am used to it and yes your faith in that appears correct!

@RDG - I apologize for my lying ways again. I will try harder to be truthful. It is difficult for me. :( It's Scotland but not the cannibal country. Alas, Edinburgh. Well, that is SORT of still cannibal country when Adullamite visits. :)

I have seen Savannah wharf houses (I think) and the slave auction street thing by the warehouses up a bit, and the ballast from the ships, and even Charleston's Battery -- but I need more and more. Yes! Pictures, please!

@RDG - Unfortunately, in order to change my lying ways, I will have to adjust my goal from simply irritating Adullamite to aspiring to a more pure calling. I will give it serious thought. (That's a lie.)

A warning to those who would joust with the Max when unrelaxed; I know him well:

"Especially important is the warning to avoid conversations with the demon. We may ask what is relevant but anything beyond that is dangerous. He is a liar. The demon is a liar. He will lie to confuse us. But he will also mix lies with the truth to attack us. The attack is psychological, Damien, and powerful. So don't listen to him. Remember that - do not listen."

I can block Max from ever lying on this blog again. For a small donation.

@Vicar Ezra~

Could you please include a SASE for that donation?

I'd be ever so grateful ...
