Yesterday, Saturday, I took a wander around town as it was 'Armed Forces Day.' I expected to see some sort of parade, stand, or anything commemorating the day. Naturally there was nothing.
Now being the last Saturday of the month the market was full of stalls retailing all sots of junk for those with too much cash, so room was in demand. I realise that some sort of event took place the day before, however, that came to light after it occurred, and with it seems only certain people invited. There was no advance publicity that I saw, and maybe there was none of any kind either? This appears rather typical of the towns approach to such events, either ignore them or hide them from the public gaze.
At least the gay flag was not flying on Saturday.
