Atkinson Grimshaw. Probably my favourite painter. A local lad, a Yorkshireman. I've loved his pictures, the way he portrays light, especially, since I was a child, and my mother used to take my sister and me to the Leeds City Art Gallery. I was fascinated by his paintings, they looked so real that I wanted to step inside.
I'm not rich enough ever to own one. so I settled, this evening, for walking along beside a sun-dappled wall near my home, a wall that feature in a couple of his paintings.

I can sense you're harbouring ambitions to be an artist...
Now, I would pay good money for a painting like that! That is, if I had any, of course.

I love his paintings, the moody effect is great.
