I understand why we have strict gun laws in the UK, guns are banned because companies, almost all of them, use AI on their websites to answer customers queries. Had I a gun at one point today I may have outdone the usual US suspects.
The new adaptor for the old laptop was due today. Fine and good say I. Then, after lunch, they say it has 'been delivered.' Not here it has not. So, I trawl the white van man site, trawl the company site, and at no time find a way to actually contact anyone. Links promising answers cannot be found, though I did find one of those wee pictures claiming to be where the goods were delivered. That picture looked like a car park somewhere. I was irked!
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr etc, for the next 20 minutes.
Normal people stop at this point and seek a few reflective moments before continuing.
I am not normal.
Eventually, having issued the death sentence several times, I found the delivery company on Twitter!
A grumble, loud enough to force AI to seek a human being, was uttered.
A nice man promised action within the hour.
Then, I again looked at the photo of delivery and realised I was wrong.
I will say that again, I was wrong. There, you can put that in your diary.
I realised the picture was in fact of the rear of the building.
This raises questions. Why? Did he not realise my door is on the front? Did he not ring the bell?
Question: does the bell work? Yes, well, I thought it did.

The driver had placed the goods round the back, in a good place, and gone off.
The phone rang. A sweet young lady offered help, contacted the driver, sent me round the back, where I found the parcel well placed, and smiled at her over the phone. The drivers opinion was not offered to me.
Humbled, again, I checked the goods.
These were in good condition, and when inserted into the laptop all worked well!
There was no requirement to buy a new machine, the £20 for the adaptor was sufficient.
So, having saved £700 I am almost smiling.
But I was in a tizz for a while.
This of course means nothing else has been done.
A busy day awaits tomorrow.
