  9. I know you know this and are just pushing buttons. but...

    Yanks are Yankees

    Yankees live in New England...

Or at least in the North.

The South didn't like Yankees. Or Scots. (Kidding. The entire South came over from Scotland.)

Many people who live in the South are now from the North. Ex-yankees trying to get a job in the Toyota factories.

Yankees is only used in the North. In the South, the word is damnyankees.

Yank is what I do to your chain. A yankee is someone who has just been yanked.

No one knows the origin of the word. Not even me. Some say yankee is the Cherokee word for coward, but any linguist knows the Cherokee word for coward is "fren-chee". Some say it is from the old Dutch, Jan and Kee. Well, that is just plain stupid. The old Dutch was Jan and Dean.

    I gotta go eat now.

  10. Max, "The entire South came over from Scotland?"
Fantastic! I'm a rebel from no....
Hold on. The South is where 'Country Music' came from.
Some say Scots invented that. But Scots are musical, so that does not fit with Country Music.'

    Hmmm, I must cogitate.....
