Those old book shops are a treasure, but I suspect its very hard for them to make a profit these days. It seems as if its people of our generation are the only ones left with an interest in books.Davehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01047342243577979820noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16539163.post-11449474824023070722016-10-08T22:43:27.771+01:002016-10-08T22:43:27.771+01:00Lee, Go for it madame!Lee, Go for it madame!Adullamitehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15537659871829290071noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16539163.post-44325439530375453822016-10-07T21:49:53.452+01:002016-10-07T21:49:53.452+01:00This is a nice post. Difficult to pass bookshops.

Mo, Yes there used to be lots but so many closed. Hopefully enoguh people still use them to keep them open. Hopefully our new mayor will put the brakes on the destruction of the old in favour of glass towers.Mohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16999026380030273440noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16539163.post-13543833101506457822016-10-07T00:28:10.606+01:002016-10-07T00:28:10.606+01:00I miss those bookshops....I know i can order books...I miss those bookshops....I know i can order books online but there is nothing like snuffling round the shelves...

I see you have discovered the remedy for the sleep problem...the fly in the webhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04563871975125538755noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16539163.post-33920471900369333772016-10-06T19:11:40.244+01:002016-10-06T19:11:40.244+01:00Second hand bookshops should ALWAYS be in old buil...Second hand bookshops should ALWAYS be in old buildings. I too hope it does well. I wonder if the miserable modern places will survive and be so pleasant in 200 years time as these old buildings. I suspect not, because the old buildings were built individually and people lived in them. The shopping malls are just flimsy things flung up as boxes for selling stuff. The worst I have seen is in Basingstoke, where I was a while ago. What a depressing place. Mind you the locals I spoke to seemed to love it much better than when Basingstoke was, apparently a "dull old place" with "nothing in it."
Jenny Woolfhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16881781466502273314noreply@blogger.com
