Oh Happy Saturday!

Read all about it, the tears of joy are making it hard to type.

  1. So a group of blokes, strangers to you, though known of by repute, kicked a pig's bladder through a target guarded by their opponents more times than the opponents managed to kick the pig's bladder through a target guarded by the first lot of blokes.

I fail to understand how this can lead to tears of joy.

  2. Ohhhhh well, you do realize that none of this would have happened if I had not wished your team good luck. From now on, Adullamite, I think you should consult with me, your all-knowing football seer to ascertain the future of your favorite team.

No, No. No need to thank me or pay me. I do it for you out of the deep kindness of my heart <3

  3. Since this is your team, I will refrain from making any snide remarks. It is really, really REALLY hard, though. Yep, I think I just strained something. Expect a bill.

  5. Pig's bladder surrogates, then....

It's still a bafflingly pointless activity.
And one in which most of its participants don't participate.
And now we're in the Olympic phase, where people around the world will feel triumphant if a person from, or at least tenuously connected to their country can do something a hundredth of a second faster, or a fraction of a measurement further than someone from another country.

    Why, oh why?

  8. Soub, Running around in circles is indeed pointless. Football is not. Team spirit, friendliness, joy, emotion and happiness combine to enthrall the thinking man. Of course if you are just an engineer.....

Max, The dead chickens are coming home to roost down Hibs way.

Max, Immediately three spammers arrived! Three!

The better team won on the day. Just a pity that the game didn't live up to the pre-match hype.
